So, we are building a home, and you need to know I do believe I may have an addiction to it.
I stalk pinterest. I always start with the grand intentions of “just a few minutes” . I’ll just search for “flooring that looks old” tonight.

I stalk pinterest. I always start with the grand intentions of “just a few minutes” . I’ll just search for “flooring that looks old” tonight.
Yeah, I want old floor. Or? New floor that looks old. But, not too old. Well? Maybe. See what I mean? I have questions! I need answers! And, Pinterest lures me in with her perfection in a box.
The problem? Pinterest isn't perfection in a box. Pinterest is perfection in Pandora's box. And, she's got me.

Pinterest does that to you.
So, I start with flooring. But, wait! Here are kitchen cabinets on a board titled “Kitchen Ideas in My New Home”. And, I think, what a find!
I NEED to see these photos.
And, then, pandemonium.
Because see here?! A pin with a fantabulous pantry. You don't find one like this everyday! Oh! And, it’s on a board named, well, “Great Pantries”. And since this pantry is so perfect, I know I HAVE to see what else awaits me on this board.
What if I miss an idea-not AN idea, THE idea? I might live never knowing the perfect pantry.
The mere thought gives me the shakes.
This is what happens when I build a home.
And, it doesn’t end there. I’ve been caught, with camera in hand, photographing friends’ window trim.
I go to parties JUST to sneak a bathroom shot. (On my behalf, the floor boards were massive, not-too-massive, nearly perfect kind of baseboards. And, they were white. And, she had beautiful dark wood floors to boot. You don't get that kind of hands-on opportunity just every day!)
When a perfectionist is given full reign.
We are building a new home! It’s smaller, it’s hopefully our last, and I want our home to scream, “I am sooo LIKE you!!!! I was built for you, Jamie!!! I was born for you, Jamie.”
Overkill?
You see, we are downsizing -big time. And, I am thrilled! Can ya tell? While many people would love to have a huge space, massive closets, ample space, I’m tired of it.
Okay, the massive closets would be great, but I just can't squeeze in all that closet space AND give the kids bedrooms, too. It's a battle.
This home?
Cozy.
Smaller.
Peaceful.
Oh, and I’m the one in charge. Like completely.
Hubby is busy running our pool business, and, besides, he and I agree, it’s only me that really cares how the house looks. As long as it has a bed, a fridge, and ESPN, he’s a content man.
So, how am I jumping into this?
Feet first! (I’ll keep you posted).
Visual for you: Me. At the top of my lungs, out-of-tune, delirious with excitement, dancing around like a fool, and in desperate need of another Pinterest fix, I'm singing, "I'M SO EXCITED, AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT AND I DON'T KNOW THE REST OF THE WORDS BUT I THINK I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!
